Energy Park

The project implements technical and business implementation planning as well as requirements specifications studies for the Callio Energy Park business concept to achieve the Callio Pyhäjärvi goals by 2025. The Callio Energy Park project will form an active innovation and cooperation network between the project actors and hold the necessary discussions with the participating regional economic actors as well as the international community. As a result of the project, Callio Energy Park will be created, one of the most attractive business areas in Finland in terms of total energy balance, which will create a new life cycle for Pyhäsalmi’s mining infrastructure and help manage Pyhäjärvi’s structural change in creating new business opportunities.

The project has received a positive financing decision on 15 October 2020 and the main implementer of the project is the City of Pyhäjärvi. As the project continues, co-operation with the companies in the network will be intensified, creating a basis for business opportunities after the end of the project.

The Northern Ostrobothnia Center for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment has granted a total of € 128,513 in support for the development of the business environment under the Finnish Sustainable Growth and Work 2014-2020 program.
