A key component of this research ecosystem is CallioLAB, operated by the Kerttu Saalasti Institute of the University of Oulu. CallioLAB provides a research, testing, and development environment where scientific expertise, industry needs, and the unique characteristics of the Pyhäsalmi mine site can be brought together. This enables the development, validation, and demonstration of innovative technologies and solutions in a real industrial environment.
