Underground Rescue Training Center

Underground Rescue Training Center – Occupational Safety Training in Pyhäsalmi

Callio's Underground Rescue Training Center in Pyhäjärvi offers companies and organisations a unique setting for occupational safety training and rescue exercises. The training and exercise area is located in the Pyhäsalmi mine at a depth of 400 metres.

The training focus is on occupational safety in demanding and high-risk work, encountered in industries such as manufacturing, construction, transport and logistics. For hands-on training, the facility features challenging exercise stations where participants can safely practise managing various accident and rescue scenarios in genuine mining conditions.

Versatile Training Opportunities

The exercise stations are designed to simulate near-realistic accident scenarios, allowing participants to practise correct procedures in a safe environment. The facilities are also well-suited for broader rescue operations training as well as testing new technologies such as drones and robotics. We tailor each training programme to the specific needs of the company.

Benefits for Participants:

  • Readiness to respond correctly in underground emergency situations
  • Enhanced ability to identify and prevent safety risks
  • Hands-on practice of procedures for exceptional and high-risk situations
  • Supports the safe design, construction and maintenance of work environments
